Let’s Meet.

Discovering.

Hi, my name is Ronnie Pinnell and I love to create music. For the better part of my 30 years on this Earth I have been fascinated by how a musical idea starts and the process of how that idea becomes what we hear on the radio. To chase this creative process I found my free time occupied by learning all I could about music and how it is created.

Starting by learning pop-punk songs on the guitar (as every angsty teen does) I began my musical journey. I started to record my garage bands and tried to find ways to make us not sound terrible. Feeling lost in multiple music theory classes, I learned the fundamentals of how music works. I also started to experiment with music software, recording principles, and mixing. I was convinced a Grammy was in the future.

Learning.

Fast forward to working in college recording studios my hobby intensified into a burning passion. I spent the better part of my college years learning production, sleeping in the studio, and not doing my calculus homework. During these years I decided that I had to find a way to make this passion a career.

Post graduation I found myself in Nashville. A few days later I found myself….starting work at one of the most legendary studios in the Music City, Sound Emporium. That was totally surreal. Trying to absorb every bit of knowledge possible, I am pretty sure I might have actually spent more time at the studio than at my apartment. I had the opportunity to watch some of the best producers, engineers, artists, and musicians make absolutely amazing records. After hours I was able to bring friends into the space to record. The picture to the right is still very emotional for me. Sound Emporium was a dream.

Developing.

Life circumstances, regretfully, brought me back to home base, Dayton, Ohio. At this point I also was able to drop some bass on tour as a DJ. The network of artists in my hometown was large. I had developed many relationships and started working with people whom are not only some of my best friends, but also musical family. Needless to say, location changed…drive to pursue this passion did not. The years after Nashville provided an opportunity to synthesize what I head learned watching the best at their craft and really apply that knowledge to my projects. My friends and I made a lot of music.

Working.

As I became more confident and comfortable, the list of artists I worked with grew. I found myself producing some crazy dance music with people in Colorado, developing a local crew that is like a family, buying a house…my main qualification was that the house had to have at least 3 bedrooms. Obviously I turned one into a bedroom “control” room and one into a “live” room. Producing tracking, mixing, and mastering from the comfort go my house has been amazing.

Over the years locations have changed, technology has advanced, and cloud storage has dominated, however, that burning passion remained. I am still fascinated by all things audio and the music creation process. I would love to embark on a creative journey with you and create art.
